"This property was amazing in all regards. The service, room design and finishings, quality of food and drinks throughout entire hotel were great. The hotel provided a room upgrade so it made my 40th birthday even more special. Having access to the other hotels and amenities was icing on the cake! Will be back with our kids. "
"The British Colonial Hotel has a rich history and has been beautifully refurbished as of Dec of 2023. It’s lovely and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We didn’t have an ocean view but that isn’t important to us as we spend little time in the room. The 2 pools are perfect .. one for families of small children as you can walk in on a very soft padded floor. The ocean is right in front of the pools with a sugar sand beach with lots of loungers. There’s a great beach grill with a nice menu and just outside the property is another great restaurant along with a Senior Frog and shopping for the cruise ships that dock in that vicinity. We were in walking distance to everything including the Fish Fry which is a 8 minute walk to a string of bohemian restaurants. "
Hotel Riu Palace Paradise Island - Adults Only - All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"Found rooms to be clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view.
Most staff very friendly. Some of the bartenders seemed put off at times.
Property is a bit dated but very well kept.
The beach area was beautiful but small for number of beach goers. We could barely walk to the water. "
"It’s good value for those on a budget hoping to take advantage of access to Atlantis but after a 9 night stay, we found the process to get wristbands tedious some days where it would take over an hour of lining up to get wristbands (pro tip- go early and sign your waivers online on the day of to save time and can show a picture of your ID so you don’t need to bring it along). Some of the things in the hotel were not in working condition but were all fixed relatively quickly (the safe took about 2 days to get properly fixed, the hair dryer didn’t work but they provided a new one, the light in the bathroom went out, the washing machines on the side of the building we were staying in were out of order), required 2 requests before they brought up a microwave in our room and the service at cruesoe’s restaurant usually take 1.5-2 hours per meal so plan accordingly. That said the food at cruesoe’s is delicious and pricing is reasonable. Overall not a bad stay and excellent value. I found little things annoying but tolerable. Try to get a room in the building on the left because closer to all amenities (pool, restaurant, stairs/ ramp you’d take to get to Atlantis, working washer and dryer). "
"I had an ocean room view room. It was beautiful and anything we needed we got. Room service was top notch and room was always cleaned without waiting for anything. It didn’t take long for them to clean every day and went above and beyond! "
