"First room over looked aircon units and smelt damp so changed rooms. Asked for firmer pillows and was offered bath towels instead. Finally got it right. Breakfast was great. Good choice and hot. "Fantastic stay at the Lansdowne. We were here on a girls trip and the Oakey cottage was a perfect home base! Easy parking right in front, 5 minute leisurely walk from shops and restaurants was amazing. Breakfast every morning was fantastic and the manager was always there kind and cheery greeting us in the morning which we enjoyed. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return in the future! "

"Lovely stay, would come again. Nicely presented room and bed was comfortable. Lovely walks along the river on doorstep. Easy parking. My room was on second floor so I struggled a little bit to carry everything up. The room was very warm so I was grateful for the fan provided in the room. I would worry about how warm the 2nd floor would be in the summer. The email with check in information was great. The farm shop nearby is very good and useful."

"Photos are misleading. The property is very dated and has an institutional, impersonal, and outdated feel to it. Decor is garish. Too many shortcomings to list: burnt carpet, no toiletries (despite listed) just basic liquid soap, rumbling plumbing, cracks everywhere. To the staff's credit, the bathroom was clean as were the sheets and fluffy towels. Location is very central, useful for a short business trip. "Room could have done with an easy chair but was good otherwise. Hotel seems to pick its staff for their friendliness and helpfulness. Not a bad one amongst them. Plenty of choice at breakfast though evening meals were limited as awaiting new cooling facilities. Plenty of parking at front and back of hotel. Hotel location ideal for getting into Gloucester. Very pleased overall and would definitely use again."
