"It was short walk from the train station and like 50 minutes from London. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good and the bus to colchester city center is pretty good. The hotel was clean and check out was pretty easy as well."

"We've stayed at Holiday Inn Express before and always been very happy. This was no exception. The staff were polite and helpful. The rooms are clean with good bedding and pillows. The bathroom is well laid out with a very good shower and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was excellent with so much choice. When we take short breaks or need a stopover we always look for a Holiday Inn Express as a firstvchoice if possible."

"Had a really nice night’s stay with a 3 course meal each at the hotel’s restaurant and we got an upgrade to a balcony room for £15. Friendly staff and lovely luxury hotel with luxury amenities in the room too. Only improvement could be better air conditioning as the room was still quite hot even with fan unit and ceiling fan"

"My mum and me had a wonderful stay at Pontlands Hotel. The staff are very friendly. The bedroom was nice and beds were comfortable. We had a good view out of our window and we were both very happy with the room. Breakfast was fantastic. The spa was great and made our trip. Also the restaurants in the hotel did fabulous food. "Great 2 night working trip. We had 2 rooms. My room 17 faced east and was large and airy with a comfortable feel. Large bed and nice pillows. The bar area is very pleasant with a good range of food+drinks. A good all-rounder and I'd stay again. Free parking is useful."

"Extremely uncomfortable sleep - tiny double bed for 2 people and there was an old creaky, loud fan and the room was unbearably hot even with the fan on all night and windows open. Give people a bigger bed and buy new modern quiet fans!"
