"Easy to find and park at the hotel - clean room and staff were helpful. Breakfast was decent too. There was an iron and board in the room and WiFi was good enough for teams calls."

"A great base for visiting the area. Comfortable and clean. Food, both breakfast and dinner menu is great value and tasty."

"All staff were great, our room was spotlessly clean."

"Cuando llegue me dieron una habitación para discapacitados sin avisarme. Les pedí que me cambiaran y lo hicieron al siguiente día. Hubo también un error cuando cargaron el total de la reservación y aunque parece que regresaron ese monto a mi tarjeta, aún no lo veo reflejado. El hotel está lindo y el personal es amable pero honestamente esperaba más del hotel"

"As soon as we drove down the drive, I fell in love with this Country House hotel & the grounds. We were welcommed immediately & looked after through out our stay. Location was perfect for A12, also to walk into the village was an option. The menu was excellant."

"A cosy place for a short stay in Colchester city centre."

"Very comfortable bed"

"Excellent place lovely breakfast"

"The manager tried to charge us twice and then the room smelt musty and damps stained carpet and worn furniture. Didn’t stay, went home the minute we saw the room. Wasn’t anyone on reception when we left. AVOID"

"If your looking for an overrated hotel then this is your place!!! Dated old dirty pillows, hair in the bed, chips in the mirror bed so uncomfortable you might aswell sleep on the floor dirty towels, don't get me started on the parking fee aswell, 9 pound! Reception staff on arrival grumpy as hell! Reception staff when leaving very nice and helpful shame they wasn't working when we arrived! Overall wished we had just booked a Premier inn that worked out cheaper with decent beds aircon and all that...

"Everything was perfect Got to be the best hotel in Colchester by far"

"The hotel is undergoing a renovation at the moment, but the rooms and general areas are clean and quiet, the staff in the bar - restaurant are most accommodating, the food is cooked to order but the wait is well worth it the food produced is excellent. Defiantly recommend the food."

"Nice hotel and great room size, good location."

"Beautiful setting, very helpful staff, lovely hotel excellent restaurant."

"Absolutely beautiful hotel and lovely staff. You are made to feel valued and welcome from everyone. The housekeeping staff are non intrusive, efficient and respectful of your privacy. The pub stuff are phenomenal, excellent and quick service with perfectly made cocktails. The breakfast/dining room is beautiful. The food is fresh, served quickly and the host and serving staff are kind and friendly. I cannot say enough good things about the ladies at reception. They were so helpful with my package...
