"Stay in the compound. Downtown Bakersfield can be a bit sketchy, hotel has nice and accommodating staff. Hotel and rooms clean and affordable. Only criticism is the showers flood the bathrooms after use. BUT they’re great rain showers "

"It's close to the river. We've been camping at Camp 3 for over 20 years. This time, we wanted to sleep comfortably and be close to the river to enjoy it more. The second night, they helped us light the BBQ and make a campfire. The gentleman was very kind."

"Riverview lodge is our happy place we absolutely love going there every year and look forward to going back! Owners are so kind and welcoming we always appreciate the hospitality and warmth they exude. Right in the center of town if you want to walk to dinner or walk to get a drink. Love kernville we look forward to being back again."
