Fayette Historic State Park

The blast furnaces at this historic park were in use between 1867-91. The site is located on Little Snail Shell bay on Lake Michigan. The area in front of the furnaces had docks in it when the site was active.

The limestone from these cliffs was mined to be used in the smelting process
