"My husband and daughter spent the night here. They had a brief, but comfortable stay.
Two recommendations:
1) Somehow they wound up in the hearing impaired room. The shower curtain did not reach to the floor, and it was very difficult to keep the water from getting out onto the floor in the bathroom during a shower. Finding a longer shower curtain or another method to contain the water would be suggested.
2) Also, the kitchen staff was very helpful with my daughter’s dietary needs, because she is gluten-free. There were some options offered to her, which was terrific! One downside is that flour is apparently added to the scrambled eggs as a thickener. I am not sure if this was clearly labeled (or not). Using ZERO flour, or switching to a gluten-free flour, would be an easy swap that would accommodate EVERYONE. Ending on a high note, the coffee was excellent, so they were grateful for that blessing!"
"When we checked in a man was cooking sausage on the waffle iron. The smell was strong. When we returned from dinner the area had been sprayed and the smell was gone.
When we entered our rooms the odor was musty, dirty. I had Fabreeze with me and that helped in both rooms.
In the bathroom- the metal tissue cover was rusty! The metal vent cover in the upper wall was bent in spots and missing parts.
Not a place we would return to. This was the third Comfort we had stayed at on this trip. It was by far the worse. Not what we expected for a Comfort."
Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites Kingsport by IHG
4/10 Poor
"I liked the it was located by a pizza hut that was closed to kill the cockroaches and an animal cremation furnace. I did not like the horrible breakfast or the fact that in FOUR DAYS and repeated requests our room WAS NEVER CLEANED !
Trash emptied 1 time towels twice , NO wipe down , mopping ,vacuuming and NO CLEAN SHEETS !
Management acted like its no big deal "we clean on a rotating schedule " which i took to mean every other month , possibly quarterly .
ALL I know is that I've NEVER stayed at a hotel that was SUCH A DUMP that they would let a guest go FOUT DAYS W/O CLEANING THE ROOM , well until now.
NEVER AGAIN !
HOLIDAY INN and EXPEDIA should both be ASHAMED !"
