"Possibly the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I didn’t receive the check in instructions, so on arriving had to spend around an hour trying to figure things out. There are no staff at the property and the phone number on their website is incorrect. Room had no bin, no mirror or tea & coffee facilities. This is a basic. No outdoor lighting and slippery broken decking steps is a health and safety hazard. Another guest kept leaving the main door open, and one night I took my dog out in the night to...

"We absolutely loved our stay. It was out of the business of Edinburgh and very unique to stay in the country side of Edinburgh. Very clean, extremely friendly staff, great breakfasts, tasty dinner at The Hearth, and easy to get in and out of from Edinburgh and neighboring areas like Dunbar and St. Andrews. "The bed was absolutely awful! Collapsed mattress and a collapsed bed base where two pieces of wood had been loosely thrown underneath for a makeshift support! It was SO uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean and refurbished but not even any soap provided. We had to run across to the Lidl supermarket for shower gel. Water was lukewarm and shower head dreadful. Not a very pleasant experience at all, and definitely not worth the £140 room only charge!"
