Stayed for a Saturday night, room was spacious, comfortable and clean.
The Collingwood is right in the heart of Great Yarmouth, good location, staff very helpful, parking costs £3.00 for 24 hours, quite easy to fins a parking space near the Guest House, defiantly would stay at The Collingwood again.
Lovely staff. We the room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfy. Wasn’t a massive fan Of the breakfast but we are quite picky. Lovely area to be and so much to do around the area. We will definitely be staying again

Room for improvement
Good location, friendly service on arrival. Issues with electrics in room meaning we had the door knocked on a few times after 21:30 which was inconvenient. We were kept awake by neighbours who were up talking at silly times, but would not have been an issue if the walls weren’t so thin. Shared bathrooms could use a spruce up.
Nice little guest house, service wasn’t amazing as the chap who checked us in seemed like he was struggling to speak English and he also under charged us for the room but then asked for the remaining money 2 days later.
I was also unfortunately allergic to something in our room as my allergies were set off upon staying there the first night. There were however 2 air purifiers in the room which helped.
Other than this, the room was pleasant and had everything we needed and the guest house itself was in an ideal location.

Strange set up, one bed for family of 3.
We stayed 4 nights in a super king but are a family of three, we expected an additional bed, when asked if we could change no other rooms were available.
Had to ask for extra towels and room was not serviced the whole time, had to ask for top ups for tea and coffee etc.
The room is nowhere big enough for a bed that size as a result no storage space at all. By far the worst we have stayed in at Great Yarmouth and we go every year.

You are out of luck if you get room 4
We were given room 4, apparently it has an Infamous reputation as the lad who looks after the hotel called a few hours before check-in to ask if we wanted to find alternative accommodation due to the amount of complaints they have about this room. Unfortunately Hotels.com were not especially helpful in changing our booking and we were about to set off so opted to just keep the room. It is at the top of the hotel, 4 flight of stairs up. There is no bathroom, you have to share the one on the 2nd floor with room 7. The resident of room 7 appeared quite comfortable with this as they had set up their toiletries in there. Sadly they hadn't cleaned the toilet, I'm not sure anyone had for some time.
In our room there is a bed, a broken chest of drawers and a counter top with a tiny kettle on it. Heads up, the plug sockets are tucked behind the curtains (nowhere near the counter) so you don't have to plug it in the TV socket and hold it as I did. Not that it matters as the electricity went off around 7am so we couldn't boil any water in the morning anyway. Oh and the kettle leaks.
It was cheap and we slept fine, the bed was at least clean and relatively comfortable. I would not be staying here again, certainly not in room 4 at least.
