"Very old traditional Ryokan. Beautiful garden/riverside views. We did not realize that there are no private baths - that was a big surprise but we were only there one night so it wasn't that problematic. Staff were very accommodating and Google Translate made communication very easy."

"We really enjoyed our traditional Japanese room complete with our own private onsen. There is very little English spoken at the hotel but a lot of effort put into ensuring we were comfortable. It is a 20 minute walk from the train station but that was fine and a nice relaxing way to end the day. There is also a hotel shuttle but it is very crowded so we opted to walk instead. We booked the half board (breakfast and dinner) with our stay and it was absolutely fantastic. The quality of the food...

The host left a very helpful instructional booklet describing how to use all of the amenities, and even instructions on how to best prepare the food. Avoid walking up to it from the main road. After taking the shuttle bus to Hotel Okada, either get the front desk at Hotel Okada to call for a shuttle to take you...
