All in all an ok stay. Was let down by a tired bathroom with stains in the bath and poor service at reception. I had to wait quite a while to be checked in as the staff member was missing, and was then sent on a wild goosechase around the rooms in outbuildings only to be told when I returned that the room was indeed in the main building and that he was new and did not know where the rooms are! Breakfast was excellent.

The Bear is a nice hotel and pub with excellent rooms in a courtyard setting.. Food is good as is the setting. Staff are very helpful and friendly and the hotel provides good value with good standards

We have stayed here before, as a budget hotel, it was fine, a bit grubby in places and the hotel looked tired! Breakfast was good and consistent. The car park! Not many available places to park, that were not under trees, car was covered in pigeon poo!

A short overnight stay at great value. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. It's not a four star hotel so don't expect toiletries and hair dryer, but a warm welcome, comfortable bar area and good parking for free.

Loved this place, great character & the staff was really welcoming & friendly. The bedroom was large and the bed comfortable. The bathroom could have been cleaner though, felt like they rushed through this one. The food in the pub was good and the breakfast was wonderful with a great selection and a nice cooked plate, everything felt fresh.
