"poor attitudes of most staff throughout....constantly ran out of many food items to include utensils.....food area was cluttered & looked messy. Had to seek out the manager to get a fork.....the garbage man finally got one for me while covering the forked portion with his dirty gloves. "This is my go-to in San Francisco, for five reasons: 1) The lobby restaurant is pretty good and the snack bar is excellent. 2) I get rooms with balconies where I can vape. 3) Just outside the door is Philz Coffee, best of the coffee chains IMO. 4) The Embarcadero food and farmer's market scene. 5) And the views. The beds are good. The shower is the best of a bad situation. I dislike bath/shower combos with shower curtains. Here they've done the best they can by installing upgraded shower...

We stayed here so we could relax in a jacuzzi and the pool and our confirmation said we had that available, yet we get there and learn that the pool and jacuzzi are under construction and unavailable. The so-called breakfast was very limited pretty much just bails or toast. So we paid a higher amount than other places in the area and didn't get anything we stayed there for. And...

"This hotel is central to everywhere we want to go in SF! Plus, we feel safe in this neighbourhood. We love the atmosphere at Union Square, and BART is close by for our trips out to the suburbs. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean, and our room requests were met 100%. We have stayed at the Handlery many times over the years, and will stay here again! "This hotel is lovely! It has someone outside always ready to greet you, which is really a nice touch. The room was nice, no coffee or tea in the room, but free tea and coffee downstairs until 10:30am. Location is amazing, it is two blocks from Fishermans’s Wharf, so you can easily walk to all the action.
