"I've traveled to a few places in the world, I come to Dominican Republic every month I stay in a lot of hotels or motels this is the worst of all of them... The check in process is horrible. No reception to check in, if you don't get there before 10pm you loose your reservation which is what happened to me. They have no parking just one electric door in a dark scary alley. I had to get a different hotel for the night. You'll lose the money if you come here."

"We absolutely loved our stay here! We stayed 5 nights and felt very welcome from the moment we stepped foot on the property.. through the week the staff were absolutely phenomenal! Enjoyed the food and plenty of bottled water was available daily, through Expedia we were provided a designated resort consultant whom was extremely accommodating and compassionate for her job! Highly recommended this location and would stay again"

"Al llegar al hotel un empleado te hostiga para que cojas una charla para que te hagas socio. Te explica brevemente el hotel y después te sigue hostigando, incluso después de decirle que si a la charla desaparece y no te ayuda en nada más. La comida es terrible, la mayoría estaba fría. No había muchas actividades para los niños. Para poder ver a los personaje tenía que correr por todo el hotel. Actividades para los adultos cero. Ellos tienen un tipo de parque o plaza donde había un poco de música que prácticamente no se escuchaba mucho y ya a las 10 de la noche lo apagaban. Además estaban corto de personal en el área de los restaurante y el buffet. Este es mi cuarto viaje a punta cana y este es el peor hotel que e visitado."

"Beautiful resort, fun activities, great staff. On our first day our room didn’t seem prepared for us, or maybe it was not used in a while. The room had a funky smell, but it was clean. We soon noticed the smell traveled through out the hotel, dining rooms and gift shop (was the worst). I chalked it up that the resort farts, terrible sewage system. It was hard to focus for the first two days. However, day two our room was cleaned and smelled better or maybe I just got used to the stinch. All of my new clothes I didn’t wear had to be washed went I got home because the scent was buried in my clothes. Apart from the resort farts, Riu Republica is a great spot for adult entertainment and fun."

"The majority of the staff were nice, food was good, the rooms needed maintenance, we stayed 2 days without A/C, and because I was persistent they changed the room otherwise they were always “fixing the problem” without outcome. We couldn’t use the beach, it was full of algae, which they “cleaned” and still didn’t resolve the problem. Do not recommend."

"The wild animals were all over the hotel even inside the restaurants and around/on too of the food. The pool was not clean regularly. The worst part of the overall hotel was the fact, there were no designated smoking areas making it unbearable for families with young kids to be in common areas (even open space), including dining spaces, Unfortunately, the most disappointing part, was the fact that 90% of the staff will not willingly help you IF you did not provided a tip. In fact, they even say it out loud: " if you give me a tip, I will help you with XYZ"."
