Lake Ozette

Sand Point...near Lake Ozette
As promised, another sunset to finish off the day.

The trail that begins at Ozette Lake is billed as a 10.5 mile triangle which leads you down to the ocean and across a couple of miles of beach.

But, practically speaking, you need to find a way to navigate the surf unless you hit the beach at very low tide. Our hike stretched out for about 12 miles, as we made serpentine patterns through the exposed rocks out and back to see all the sea stacks.

When we returned to the lake, the sun had all but rolled over the lip of the earth. But it left a few colors dangling in the air, and Ozette Lake caught them all and tossed them back up like a smooth and silky sheet of glass.
