"The rooms are being renovated and mine was clean and like new. I think more room improvements are coming as I'd describe it as 'spartan'. I only needed a nice clean bed and great shower after a day of hiking and biking and this was just fine. "

We hiked Mt. Marcy, drove and hiked to the top of Whiteface, checked out the Wilmington Notch Falls, and checked out the Olympic Center. All of that was amazing for 3 adventure seekers in town for two full days.

We've visited Lake Placid several times and always love it here. Its perfect if you love to hike. The gondola at white face and Mt. Vanhoevenberg facility are great places to visit as well.

Really is historic and surrounded by beautiful moutains. The foliage was beautiful and it wasn't too crowded. I'll be back again. I Love New York!

One thing I noticed about Lake Placid that I didn't expect... it's a town whose identity is intertwined with the Olympics but there's no international flavor anywhere.
