The hotel is ideally located in the town and overlooks the estuary. Donna is a fantastic host; nothing is too much trouble for her. There is plenty of choice for breakfast which is cooked to order.
Donna was an amazing host who provided an excellent breakfast each morning and went out of her way to make our stay very pleasant. The view from our room was delightful. The stairs were a challenge for two elderly people with luggage.
Great little guest house and comes with a free car parking space. Donna was an excellent host along with Mia the friendly rescue dog.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts followed by a full Welsh or eggs on toast or a bacon sanwich etc.
Deganwy is licensed so we were able to enjoy a drink or 2 in the evening. Keep up the good work Donna!
The Deganwy was a beautiful, pleasant place to stay. Donna, son and dog we're really lovely. Nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was outstanding and worth much more than Donna changes.
We are from Leeds in Yorkshire. And will be greatly looking forward to spending time with Deganwy in 2025
Due to unforseen circumstances we arrived late on our first day, had told Donna and even though it was late she was there to greet us and help with our luggage.
The room was spotless and the view over the estuary beautiful. Breakfast was delicious with thick bacon and sausage from a local butchers.
What we both liked was the attentiveness that Donna gave us and other customers staying there. She would also call each of us by our fist names. Something that just made the stay a bit more personal.
Will definitely be staying there again. Location was excellent and the fact we had a parking permit for parking just over the road just ticked every box. Thank you Donna

Disliked: Cleanliness
Met on arrival & shown to our room. Asked if we mind dogs. We don't and Mia was a dream, but feel it should be mentioned.
The room was at the back without a view but not an issue, meant it was quiet & we don't go away to sit in our room.
There was tea & coffee, and (just) one biscuit (not a deal breaker obviously) However, the shelf in the bathroom was very dusty (not new dust - it hadn't been cleaned in a while) / the plastic beakers in the bathroom had been used and the skirting boards, and behind the sink were very dirty. However, the bed was large, and the bedding was clean.
There is a bar at the property, but we never saw anyone use it - nor were we told how to contact anyone should we want a drink or what times this was possible.
B/fast 1 - b/fast was very nice indeed. We had to ask for toast twice and received it after we'd finished. We also got 'told off' for sitting at the wrong table (we weren't informed there was a right table) so we made a joke out of it.
Day 2, sat at the right table - the cups were filthy (got them changed)
Day 3, Had to wait for the table so sat in the lounge with the washing. B/fast took an hour & we still had wait for toast. Picked up our napkins, the plates underneath had been used.
Towels used were left in the shower as requested & stayed there for 2 days.
Saw the chef using his tea towel to wipe down the outside handrail when he was on a break
Food was lovely - but all in all not quite good enough. We still love Looe!
Great private hotel near the bridge over the river
Great welcome and fantastic hosts throughout my brief stay, David and Donna are to be commended for being personable yet professional. Lovely lounge area and breakfast room. Tasty and well presented cooked breakfast. Clean, comfy and well presented bedrooms. What else do you need?
The Deganwy guest house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the estuary from our room. We also had our own private bathroom and bathrobes were provided for us. Donna and Dave looked after us very well during our stay and were both lovely. Dave cooks an excellent breakfast with ample portions, while Donna looked after us very well in the dining room making sure we had everything we wanted. Donna and Dave are always available in the evening if you want a drink in the bar or on the terrace . Dave is one of the funniest people I've ever met and had us laughing from the minute we met him. Cannot wait to go back next year x
On arrival made welcome by Donna with a welcome cup of tea and biscuits who said room not quite ready which was ok.!
When shown to our room dirty laundry outside our room at the top of the stairs. On entering the room slightly disappointed musty smell and tea tray no cups or kettle, (despite repeated requests on the third day they were placed outside our room) dirty toilet area (with a cutlery knife at the back of the toilet) and dirty toilet brush - Stain on bath towel.
The cooked breakfast was freshly cooked and quite tasty but the cereal stale ,tiny jam pots half used and had to get cutlery from another table. The tables still had evidence of the morning's breakfast in the evening!.
In the lounge couldn't sit on the settee because of the laundry dumped on it.
Overall disappointing as it was a great location and also parking available.
Unfortunately wouldn't stay there again.
Had a lovely 2 night break. Donna and David can't do enough for you. Everything was spotlessly clean. David cooks breakfast as you sit down. It was lovely. We will definitely be returning.
excellent property. the room was more than we had hoped for. it was spacious and the bathroom was brand new and very well finished.
the hotel itself is situated just outside the main centre, it took four minutes to walk into and was perfectly positioned.
even with the covid 19 precautions the hotel was a delight.
A lovely hotel in a great location. Rooms were immaculate, breakfasts were amongst the best we've tasted and the owners were so welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel
The guesthouse was in a perfect location with lovely views. Donna and Dave were very welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely stay again.
Hoteliers were very welcoming and explained about the room and breakfast allocations. Offered information about the area and were happy to recommend place to eat too. Engaged in chatter with other guests in the bar lounge, lovely place.
Great find this place, only 5 minutes walk to the centre of Looe. Dave and Donna were great hosts, and kept everyone amused in the evening.
Room was perfect and the breakfast was excellent. Nice little sun trap in the evening on the front terrace.
Best place where we stayed so far.The owners makes fill you like home. Breakfast is very tasty.View from the window is amazing. Definitely will come back again
We stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. Great location, easy walk to town and easy road access to other locations. Owners were wonderful, we were treated like old friends. Awesome breakfast. For us it was a perfect choice.

Donna and David couldn’t be nicer. Family room was small but cozy. Breakfast was top notch
The hosts could not have done more to make our visit pleasant. The rooms was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and selection was good. I could not recommend this B&B more. Will be going back.
Lovely guesthouse with great views over the tidal river. We stayed 3 nights over the Easter weekend and we were not disappointed. It was made even better by the hosts - they made every effort to ensure that we had everything we needed and made extremely welcome. We highly recommend these guys and would definitely stay again next time we’re in the area. Thank you for a great weekend! Thanks for the name suggestions, Dave has been added to the list 😉
