"Las Vegas sucks! The Luxor is probably fine by Las Vegas standards but if the Luxor was your vacation destination in a normal city you would walk in and turn around and leave. There are only kiosks for check in. If you are elderly good luck figuring these out. Once you check in you will get a message, either via text or email, letting you know that your room is being assigned. You can do nothing more except stand around waiting for the next message to arrive with your room number. Once you get that message you can self generate your room keys at a separate kiosk. If you are expecting white glove service forget it, this is you are the only hotel employee who will get you into your room. Once you have a room key you can wander around to one of 4-5 color coded elevator banks which are no where near each other. Our room was up the blue elevators. The elevators are old and dilapidated. Lots of damage inside the elevators. The rooms are also old and show their age. The doors do not have traditional deadbolts. If you like the smell of cheap cigarettes, stale cheap booze, piss, and maybe dog vomit stay at the Luxor. We could never identify the smell but it is everywhere. TBH it could just be the smell of Las Vegas. If you want to leave the Luxor and “explore” Vegas everything is a minimum of a 40 minute walk one way. We spent 4 hours walking and only saw Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, and New York New York."
