"The bartender who worked Monday night (March 16) was extremely rude and unprofessional. We ordered two rounds of drinks. The espresso martini from the first round didn't taste like espresso at all, but I drank it anyway because I didn't want to be a pain. When we attempted to order a second round, we stood at the bar right in front of him as he passed us over to serve other customers for 3-5 minutes before I finally asked him if we could order a drink. He finally responded to me. I asked him a question about making a lower calorie/sugar version of a paloma, but he was very clearly irritated that he even had to speak to me. We were the only Black people at the bar, and I couldn't help but notice the difference in the way we were treated compared to the other white customers at the bar. I even asked my husband if he did something to offend him when he ordered the first round of drinks, wondering if that was why we were being treated so poorly. I was also disappointed that Lazia was never open one time while we were there. We were told it was because of a "mishap". Everything else was fine, but the poor treatment from the bar tender on Monday night and Lazia never being open (we were not told this in advance) were two major disappointments."

"When I checked in I had booked a room with 1 king bed. I got there and I got to my room and it had 2 queen beds instead. I complained about it but was basically told, “too bad.” The water pressure in the sink was very low. The water just dribbled out. The next morning I was told that breakfast is $20 per person. I went to the front desk and asked because on my reservation it stated that breakfast for 2 is included. The lady at the front desk told me, “okay we will let them know in the restaurant.” After we finished our breakfast they gave us a bill. I explained that I was told that it is included. She called the front desk and they told her that it wasn’t included and I needed to pay. I wish they would have been up front and honest from the beginning."

"It is an older building in the heart of downtown so it’s expected to not be perfect condition…this is why I gave it 4 stars. Valet waiting on you, handed keys over and went to front desk. Check in fast. Room was excellent!!!!! TV saying welcome with my name. The bathroom was a true handicap one. Complete roll in shower. Restaurant atmosphere was perfection. Will be back!!!!!! Stay here when you’re needing a place when your downtown KC!!!"

"Room 100 has no hot water, i had to go to room 409 when i needed to shower, also the a/c did not work in room 100, they brought us one fan, for my husbands side, of the bed, not happy. The lady at the front desk applied 1000 points to a IHG acct she made for me, whats that gonna get me? A water?... i cant stay at a hotel for less than 80k points, i think i deserve a free room for a night, for the hassle, js"

"Staff said expedia sent over a 2 bed and i reserved a king bed. Lady said i have a king with no windows was thr only thing she had aval. Which was weird and kinda creepy. Expedia called the staff and all tbe sudden the same lady shows up at the room she put us in with a king bed with a window an hour later. After an hour your settled. It was the lie and her attitude coming to the door that upset me with this lady. Not hey we got a room that came open sorry about that just knock knock heres your new keys. "

"Overall not a bad experience at all. Just a few things that weren’t the greatest. There were mold spots on the walls in the part of the bathroom where the shower was, I’m assuming because there was no ventilation in there. The other thing was you had to pay to park in the parking lot. We only stayed one night so not a huge deal but had it been multiple nights that definitely would have been a problem. $25 a night is crazy. The staff was really friendly, the breakfast was good. The mattresses have zip covers and then another mattress cover on top of that. Aside from the moldy spots the room was very clean. "
