Publick House Historic Inn and Country Motor Lodge
8/10 Good
"I liked the overall esthetic and historical legacy of the Publick House. It’s a unique place and the grounds are beautiful. I felt that the staff did a great job with the tools that they have.
There was a fair amount of miscommunication regarding the materials we had brought to complement the wedding rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception. These would be items like center pieces and other favors.
We had difficulty connecting with the person responsible for the storage and sake keeping of these items during check in. We were told to wait in a downstairs hallway for her to review and store the material, but she never came. I ended up getting a different staff member to assist us and she couldn’t find the responsible person. We placed the materials in a rack without fully knowing that they would be handled. That was our only difficulty."
"Elevator needs work, property is having renovations going on and had handicap parking blocked . Part of the entrance is being blocked with supplies for renovation.
Employee parking was in front of the entrance spaces that paying customers should have had available to them. The renovation supplies should be moved to the rear parking lot. Food was good and the staff was very nice & the Room was clean."
"Went to check in , had to call 3 different numbers on the wall twice , not a single answer . After 20 minutes I recieved a call saying that someone is on their way soon but couldn’t give me an eta . After telling them I can’t wait for a room I paid for with two toddlers in the car late at night , I got scolded because the manager “was helping me out “ after I tried to get checked into an empty hotel for 40 minutes . Parking lot had only 4 vehicles , which is a bad sign in itself . After researching more I’m glad it didn’t work out as the property and management is severely lacking"
"It is a fairly well maintained inn, quiet, with an appropriate continental breakfast. Good coffee. There is a lovely diner seconds away within the same compound that serves an excellent breakfast"
"The room was average. After paying in advance for the room I discovered that there was a $15/day charge for parking and all food was charged to the room or paid for in cash. No breakfast included. Perhaps I overlooked this when making the reservation."
