"The room, separate to and, around the back of the pub was stunning. It was warm and cosy with a controllable radiator for heat. Bed was very comfortable and we had a great night sleep. No shower, but a lovely bath with a handheld shower head. Perfect place to stay before starting the Thames Path. Food was elevated pub fare, and brekkie was the standard full English."

"The room was compact but modern, stylish, comfortable, clean and totally functional. Oat milk and decaf coffee in the room. The were no windows, but I knew that when booking. Efficient staff - check in took 21 seconds! Great location. I went to a concert at Komedia, which is next door. Wetherspoons etc nearby."

"Lovely clean hotel. Greatly placed for all of Bristols amenities/nightlife. Basin took a while to drainin bathroom but we reported it and no doubt it will be seen to. Value for money. Would stay again."

"Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, and although the bathroom seemed a little worn it was very clean. Breakfast was ok. The rooms we had were an upgrade from the ones we booked, I think. The hotel was situated in a lovely area, with walking available along the river and the canal, and a couple of villages close by, containing decent pubs and restaurants. I would stay there again."

"It's OK. The hotel looks better on the outside than on the inside. Sauna/Steam room/Swimming pool are good. Rooms a bit dirty and outdated. No aircon."

"We had a wonderful stay. The staff was amazing. They bent over backwards to try to help are stay be the perfect experience. The food was great. The castle is truly an amazing place to stay. The grounds were immaculate as well. I want to mention one of the staff, Kayla by name, for her superb customer service and help. Everyone there showed how much they valued their guests. We would highly recommend Thornbury Castle to anyone who wants a very memorable stay."

"Lovely setting beautiful kept grounds . Large tv in the room soap and body wash in large containers over the bath couldn’t be accessed while your sitting in the bath they were set too high up the wall and one was empty . Staff were all relaxed and happy in their work couldn’t do enough for you especially the dining room staff"

"Could be outstanding but the kitchen lets them down. The location, hotel and staff are wonderful but the food is where the shine falls off. Decent menu but most of the food was bland, lacking taste or overly greasy (fish). Breakfast was wrong both mornings (even with simple request), kitchen needs to read the orders properly.. At the two dinners, both night people on tables around us were commenting on their food.. (which is such a shame for a lovely hotel..."

Rooms are dark, low ceilings, out-updated furniture, etc. All in all, the hotel is good enough, though one may not think of it as a spa like experience, especially when considering that this is one of the attractions/ amenities that they are offering & advertising."

"Room could have done with an easy chair but was good otherwise. Hotel seems to pick its staff for their friendliness and helpfulness. Not a bad one amongst them. Plenty of choice at breakfast though evening meals were limited as awaiting new cooling facilities. Plenty of parking at front and back of hotel. Hotel location ideal for getting into Gloucester. Very pleased overall and would definitely use again."

"Parking was very good lots of room. At reception we was greeted by a very helpful and friendly young lady (Anna) Fantastic job 👏. In fact all the staff where very helpful (Tsekani maintenance man) was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hot and plenty to eat very enjoyable. The hotel and rooms where very clean , I would definitely book here again if I am the area."
