"Premises would be best described as Runmere MOTEL. The accommodation block is detatched and across the car park from main reception area. OK if you like US style Motel accommodation, I personally din't and would not have booked if I had been aware of this. Rooms are very basic, but adequate. Location is two minutes away from Railway station so very good for transport links. Staff were very friendly, accommodating, polite and attentive. I feel the photos on website don't accurately reflect the layout of the complex. Definitely not for me and I won't be going back."

"I was extremely happy when I pulled up here, the hotel looks like a National Trust property and the interior matches this theme. The staff were very pleasant and went above and beyond to my the stay comfortable. I chose the traditional English breakfast, it was enough to see my through to the evening and the quality was great. Having previously stayed in chain hotels in this area, I have decided to make this hotel my go to :) "

"Parking was wonderful but breakfast changed from 09.00 to 11.00 must be reversed back to 09.00. A lot of people are not happy with this changes. Nobody wants to be hanging about due to work starting 09.00 away from the the hotel. 11.00 does not make any sense. I love this Royal Alfred and it's the best in the area. Thank you Emilia."
