"We had a huge room on the third floor with a magnificent view of Manual Antonio. The decor needs updating. My husband described it as lipstick on a pig. Caulking in the bathroom was done messily and the tile work on the shower floor was not done professionally. Marks were on the wall where something hung before. The shower drain was slow to drain. The parking situation is very limited and parking spots tight. Entry to and from the driveway is very dangerous… on a curved road with no way to see traffic coming. The towels are terrible micro fiber ones. We had breakfast included but two mornings the order was not correct. Staff will replace the meal for you but I just ate what I was served. I could not find anyone in the lobby to check out. The young girls at reception did not seem to be too concerned with our needs. The best thing about this hotel was the view."

"Where do I begin? Let’s start with, DO NOT STAY HERE. Room 63 was completely uninhabitable due to a severe, active pest infestation. As a direct result of this health and safety hazard, four adults were forced to crowd into a single room (room 62) for the entire 3 night stay. Hotel management refused to issue a refund Upon arrival, we simply dropped off our suitcases and left the property for the day. We never used or slept in the room, and never opened the balcony doors. When we returned in the evening, the room was heavily infested with bugs. We tried calling front desk immediately that same night, no one answered. We even walked over to the front desk at night, no one was present. NO STAFF ON SITE at night is an immediate safety concern. Hotel staff acknowledged the issue and offered to "deep clean" the room. We agreed and waited. However, when we went back to inspect the room after this supposed “cleaning” bugs were still crawling everywhere. This proves a deep-seated, active infestation that the hotel can’t just “deep clean”. Front desk staff falsely claimed that we left the balcony doors open. This is completely untrue. The infestation was present immediately upon our return, and the failure of their own deep-cleaning process proves the issue was structural, not environmental or caused by us. Hotel staff was rude, condescending and totally unprofessional: Hector and Manfried Arias. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. Rooms so outdated, dirty old. Nothing like pictures"

"We had a great stay! Dylan was fantastic, his energy and attentiveness was faultless, and he was able to give recommendations of what to do around the area. The areas to relax around the property were nice, including the pool and the hammocks. The included breakfast was wonderful - with various options to choose from. There are also options to buy lunch / dinner, and drinks and these meals were very good too! We had a garden view condo which was large and stocked with everything required, including utensils to cook. Water pressure in the shower was good, and wifi was strong throughout the property. There was a dehumidifier in the room which was helpful and the aircon in the bedroom was strong. The only thing that could have been improved would be to have mesh over areas that were exposed to the outside - such as over the bathroom vent and kitchen extractor, to limit any insects getting into the room. We were able to see wildlife from the accommodation including scarlet macaws, and the accommodation was also well located - a quick drive into the centre or to the national park. We would definitely recommend staying here."

"Our experience was delightful! Beautiful views from the restaurant! I like the idea of separate swimming pools. One for family and the other one for adults. We had a stand room with the view of the jungle towards the street. The beds were firm which was uncomfortable first nights. But I loved to hear the early birds and the howling monkeys! We also stayed the night in a superior ocean view to experience the difference. I could hear the air conditioning sound off the second floor next to the balcony. It was annoying to me. Pro is the ocean view and restroom size and perhaps better bed. I prefer the standard room looking towards the jungle! I wish it was all inclusive hotel. Since it was not, we ate at the local restaurants and used Uber. I would return to this hotel. Everyone was friendly! Pura Vida!"

"This was by far the most expensive place I have ever stayed. We really splurged by staying here, but I have to say it was worth it. The grounds, private beach with amenities like sand toys and boogie boards, the pools and the WILDLIFE. Really the best part of all was the sloths and monkeys that were right outside our door everyday. They made it so fun to be here. We ate at many of the restaurants and they were OK but very pricey. The resort is close to grocery stores, cheaper restaurants and tourist activities. I would definitely stay here again."

"Our stay at Ecotica was absolutely wonderful. The hotel is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and offers an unforgettable Costa Rican experience. We loved seeing wildlife around the property, and the rooms were comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. The only disappointing part of our visit was our experience at the YOLO restaurant. Unfortunately, we encountered a waiter who was quite rude and made us feel unwelcome. He rolled his eyes when we asked questions and when we requested recommendations, which left a negative impression. The service we received there did not reflect the excellent hospitality we experienced throughout the rest of the hotel. Despite this unpleasant experience at the restaurant, everything else about Ecotica was outstanding. The property, atmosphere, and overall service were exceptional. We would still recommend Ecotica to anyone visiting Manuel Antonio and would gladly stay here again."

"Pros: The owner and staff on site were so sweet and so helpful. Monkeys were all over the property which was so cool. The complementary breakfast was simple but very good. The location was very central, so getting to most places in quepos/manuel antonio was a 15 minute drive at maximum. They also offer a free tour guide for manuel antonio park, and a 50% discount at a local indian restaurant (i forgot the name, sorry) Cons: The rooms were a little more run down than the photos advertised, but they weren’t that bad. The monkeys/lizards were scratching at the walls/ceiling which kinda freaked me out until we realized what it was lol. The most inconvenient part came on our last day though. The hotel lost power on our last night and was out for multiple hours. With no A/C, it was so hot that it was almost impossible to even sleep :( I understand it was because of the weather, but just be aware that this hotel does not have a backup generator! Also, there was very minimal parking."
