"The hotel is housed in a very old building, formerly a monastery next to a church, which gives it a unique historical charm. The staff were extremely friendly, and the service was exceptional throughout our stay. The open bar was a nice touch, and the team was consistently attentive and accommodating. Unfortunately, the room itself felt quite dated and somewhat run down. The floors and walls showed visible wear, with noticeable stains and scuff marks. The bathroom was very small, with older fixtures that appeared worn and water-stained. Due to the building’s aging plumbing, toilet paper cannot be flushed, which was inconvenient. Additionally, the trash bin in our room had not been emptied from previous guests, which was disappointing. The air conditioning also struggled to keep up with the humidity, making the room less comfortable. Overall, the experience might have felt acceptable had we been expecting a more rustic, historical stay. However, this came as a surprise to us, and we did not feel the hotel offered good value for the price, despite the excellent staff and amenities."

"This was a great location in Old San Juan. Super walkable. Parking was difficult because the city was a bit busier that usual when we came in that night. Parked at a garage 15min away (a little up hill) but all good. Hotel was exactly was we needed for two days. I would flag that walls are thin so you hear everything. Wasn't super loud but if you are use to very quiet conditions, heads up. Being from NY it didn't bother us at all. "

"I booked hotel Armas for our short vacation trip, where me and my husband had a wonderful experience !!! Our room was clean, spacious with beautiful balconies that are looking down right on the plaza Da Armas, of our favorite Isla, which is still beautiful! Their stuff is amazing, customer service is excellent, atmosphere is inviting and welcoming! I will be happy to come back and gladly recommended hotel Armas as wonderful stay!"

"Location Palacio Provincial is situated in the heart of Old San Juan, and the location truly deserves five stars for its central and vibrant setting. Overall Experience Despite the excellent location, my overall rating for Palacio Provincial is three stars. There were several issues that impacted my stay: Pool Towel Availability Over the course of three consecutive days, there were no towels available at the pool. I had to text the hotel staff to request towels not only for myself but also for several other guests who were in need. Room Security Concerns After the cleaning crew serviced our room, they left it propped open. Fortunately, nothing was missing, but this posed a security concern. Rooftop Bar Service The rooftop bar did not open as scheduled. On at least two occasions, the bartender disappeared for about 45 minutes at a time. If hotel management reviews the camera footage for Saturday and Sunday, it will show that several guests came, sat down, and after waiting 15 minutes, left because the bartender did not return. Also, the pool deck was being renovated/repaired, they should have shared this during the booking. "

"The lobby and resort are very nice. My 3rd floor ocean view, was a peek at the ocean after mostly a dirty, garbage polluted roof. The room was very musty smelling and was startled by a couple of cockroaches. The balcony was dirty, and the shower has no divider, so the bathroom floods. The lighting was dim and yellow in the bathroom. They need to update this room. The property is nice, great beach, pools and places to lounge. Get a spot early though, they fill up fast. "
