"It's a five-star hotel that could use some updating. The decor feels a bit dated. However, the rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. The bed, specifically the mattress, is a bit firm-similar to the mattresses you'd find in Japanese hotels. I woke up with back pain almost every day, meaning the bed isn't particularly comfortable. "The hotel is in a great location. A short walk down Nanjing Road to the Bund. Lots to see in the area and nothing is really far away by taxi/Didi. The food choices for breakfast and dinner were extensive. Great gym, steam room, and pool. The staff were really helpful. If you don’t speak Mandarin then just take your time explaining what you need. My room was compact but the view was amazing, and the bed was comfortable and spacious. "
