"Staff were very efficient and friendly. I have disability, someone had parked across the space outside and I let reception know. The disabled spaces need repainting as they are very worn. Bar staff very good, we didn't use restaurant. Lovely bathroom. Bed comfortable. Wardrobe doors creaked very badly, maybe some WD40 on the hinges would help! Good view. Lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay and will be returning.Very happy with our short break here at the Royal."

"Amazing value and so much to do. Food was plentiful, pleasant and of a canteen standard. Bluecoats and other staff very pleasant and helpful. Accommodation basic but comfortable enough and very quiet. Entertainment was amazing. Afternoons and evenings with lots of choice for different events. A great break if you embrace what is on offer. No children allowed so very different atmosphere.
Only negative point was cleaner coming into our room 20 minutes before check out time on last day."

"Stayed in room 6 beautifully furnished loved colour scheme great view of the pier and the sea from our window. Everything was very clean and the bed comfortable. Great breakfast each morning just a few yards down the road, think it was called Coffi. Parking is a bit of an issue. Would definitely use again. Thank you."

"The staff were very friendly and the location was great! We visited during an extreme heat wave and unfortunately it was uncomfortable sleeping. The staff provided a room fan when we requested, but unfortunately the 2nd floor was an oven. This is no fault of the staff or property, it was just an anomaly of the weather."

"The hotel itself is excellent - great location and architecture. The cool atmosphere and aircon were welcoming on the hottest June day ever recorded in Cardiff!
The facilities were great - including bedroom, bar and pool / spa.
A couple of disappointments though. Guaranteed check-in from 3p.m. We arrived at 2.15 so went to the bar to wait. By 3.30 still no room, so after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing they eventually found us an upgrade.
The breakfast - distinctly average for the price and...
