"This hotel was a little gem! From the moment we met Philippa after a 2 day long trip from Canada we knew me were in a warm and welcoming place. The service was impeccable! The room and bathroom were tiny but spotless and the kitchenette was well stocked with everything from fresh eggs, milk, fresh fruit, and the best thing was the sack of fresh baked pastries and baguette left on our door every morning! Loved it❤️"

"We had an amazing room overlooking the square. It was very large, clean, with great amenities. The furnishings were well appointed and fun. They supplied coffee, snacks, laundry detergent, dish, soap, and toiletries. The location was perfectly located to restaurants. TASCA DOS SAPATEIROS was an amazing little restaurant on the block behind the hotel, and we would highly recommend it. The only issue we had was getting into the building with the keypad. "As a solo traveller, I felt really safe staying at the hotel and being in the area. Everyone was really nice and welcoming as it was my first time visiting Portugal. Hotel was accommodating as I arrived early and they held my luggage until check in. Front desk was amazing and very pleasant."

"Very nice property. I did not like the elevator situation it was very slow. We were on 4th floor had to go up 2 flights to get to elevator then 4 flights to get to room. We used the elevator the first day and then they put signs up all over the building that elevator was for luggage only. "

"Great location in old town which is shabby-chic area. Yes, there are a lot of outdoor stairs to the suites but it’s a great way to keep up with your exercise! Lisbon itself is full of hills so be aware of this before going :) The staff at Castello are super nice & helpful. We loved our suite - very clean, bed was comfortable, so nice to be able to eat in when you want in the comfort of your pjs ;) Breakfast was included and was plentiful. We felt safe in the neighborhood and things you may see...

The front desk staff went above and beyond—they were able to accommodate our luggage when we arrived and again when we left and they even let us check in early, which was such a lifesaver after a long tiring trip. The hotel was spotless, in a fantastic location, and within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Truly made our visit so much easier and more enjoyable. Highly recommend! "
