Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bloomington - Normal by IHG
8/10 Good
"Appreciated staying in a facility that was up to date and modern. Only complaint we have is that the elevator took way too long to close the doors, even when the button was pushed to close the doors (it did not respond)."
"King suite - accessible room. Had a Murphy bed that was a queen size and not a normal king bed as stated and reserved. Room layout was really good and roomy with a nice mini-bar area. Bathroom has some maintenance issues. Shower had some mold on the caulking by the base. Walls had holes in it from trying to hang hand rail by toilet and the toilet is not an ADA high toilet. It was so low it was hard to sit and stand. The wallpaper is peeling off walls in breakfast and dining area. Otherwise the hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Room was clean and quiet. TV was very small especially being too far from the sofa and bed."
"I was put on a first floor room that had a sliding glass door to the parking lot... I did not feel safe. I should have just asked for a different room, but was uncomfortable doing that as well. "
"My stay at the hotel has been quite underwhelming so far. The room feels like it barely meets the standards of a three-star establishment.
The comforter provided is disappointingly thin, leaving me feeling chilly throughout the night. I found myself turning on the heat to make the space more comfortable, which is not ideal for a hotel stay.
Overall, the experience has been basic at best, lacking any special touches or amenities that would elevate it beyond the bare minimum. But as it stands, it’s just an average night at a hotel."
Illini Inn & Suites Hotel - Rantoul/Gifford/Champaign/Urbana
2/10 Terrible
"All those perfect/high ratings are not accurate. Those ratings had to be bought and paid for considering they were mostly the same. One review, “Nicely remodeled and repurposed building” - Dec ‘25. We stayed in the so called remodeled building and it was definitely done cheaply if at all. There were odors and had that damp feeling because it wasn’t conditioned well. The beds were not comfortable. The photos of their rooms and building are very well placed and staged. Another review mentioned of the customer not feeling safe there. I can see what he was referring to since it was decommissioned Air Force Base and now looks like an industrial park. Main thing people need to know is that those high reviews for this hotel are highly inaccurate. This hotel should be less than $100/night and people should know what they are getting themselves into."
