"This hotel is so beautiful. The rooms were amazing so welcoming.e the restaurant and bar we great the staff we the best. The food was great and great live music. Will definitely stay there again"
"This hotel was very asthetically pleasing, from the grounds, to the rooms, and even the bar! We had a triple room (twin and a double bed), which was compact, but still plenty of room to move around. We appreciated being on the first floor as it was quite warm outside and the rooms do not have AC. We had a lovely dinner in the bar and also enjoyed relaxing on the adjoining patio. Staff was very accommodating and efficient. Location is an easy 15 minute walk into city center, which was a fun area...
"The restaurant was amazing. We enjoyed cocktails and small plates in the courtyard in the evening and a delicious breakfast the next morning…both were outstanding! Parking was easy. Views of castle from our rooms. Definitely recommend!"
"Very modern and very clean hotel. We didn’t have food but the food in the bar looked lovely. Lovely singer n the bar on the night we stayed- her name was Cheyanne Stewart- really engaged with the audience.
Only negative was that the room was roasting even with window open and a fan in the room. We will definitely stay here again. "
"The Lyrath Estate was the best hotel on our Ireland round trip. Everything was perfect. When we arrived in the afternoon a piano player was playing in the very nice, bright wonderful lobby.
The breakfast was like the whole estate excellent. We can highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a stay near Kilkenny… "
"This hotel was great. The room was large, clean, and cozy. A festival was on so we got to enjoy parts of that which were neat and exciting. You have to drive into town but still conveniently located."
"We arrived to Kilkenny for a wedding on Thursday. We chose this location because it was slightly outside of the town center, had its own parking and was relatively close to all of our needed amenities. The staff were lovely and while the food wasn’t for my pallet, the rest of my family enjoyed it. We’d do it again!! "

The rooms were clean and comfortable with good showers.
We throughly enjoyed the breakfast, and feel the place was reasonably priced.

"The beautiful Irish countryside has so much to offer. When this is combined with the love for nature that the host Mary shares with you and staying in one of the shepherds huts all conditions for a perfect stay are there. Guidance to nice walks and places to see are part of the warm welcoming to Blackstairs Shepherds Hut.
We enjoyed the quietness, a walk along the river Barrow and having dinner in the nearby town Borris."
