I've stayed here before and it was perfect for my trip to sightsee downtown. Construction going on this time and the entrance can be difficult to find. It's not a fancy place, but it's safe, comfortable and inexpensive.
If you think you've had the worst, try this place.
I reserved a single night and pre-paid via PayPal on site several weeks prior. When arriving that afternoon, they were unable to find my details. When I said I booked online, they referred to a piece of paper that had handwritten details on it, yet they still couldn't find it and asked me to pay again. I showed both the receipt details and confirmation number, and they gave me a key to enter my room.
The quality of the room wasn't great, and the location is a bit suspect, but I wasn't expecting a 5* place. It was clean at least.
However, at 1:00a, the night manager banged on my door, accusing me of not paying and demanding that I pay again. Given the conditions of the neighborhood where the motel is and the time that he woke me up, he's lucky he didn't get hurt. I shared the same confirmation details as I had done with the other staff in the afternoon, and he went away for about 30 minutes, then came banging on my door again. I shared the same details, and he went away until 4:30a, at which point I heard banging on my door for a third time. However, when I opened the door, nobody was there, but I can safely assume it was the same man.
I packed up and left after a combined 3 hours of sleep, as I was sure he would just come a 4th time to accost me. When I contacted Hotels.com Support, they confirmed that my payment did indeed go through when I did the original reservation. "Miraculously", the motel was then able to find my reservation.
Avoid this place like it's the plague.
The worst place I have ever stayed at, every surface smells of old smoke, dirty, cigarette burns everywhere, noisy. You can hear everything the walls are paper thin. The lighting is terrible and I had cockroaches in my bathroom
The room doesn’t match the photo on hotel.com. The bedspread had burns. The neighborhood is somewhat unsafe with several abandoned buildings. But it is very close to many tourist attractions.
This peoperry is not equipped for a human to stay any nights. The room had flies within it. The bed sheets had dried blood and burn holes. The floor looked as though it had never been swept. The innskeepers were kind enough but the facility was horrendous.
There are needed a lot of improvements!
The bathroom sink was in such a poor condition; the light was so weak, in the bathroom and could not shave properly; my all good clothes got a terrible smell of cigarettes and I had to wash them all!
Do not ask about the neighborhood area!
I respect the staff but the motel needs IMPROVEMENTS!
