"Stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and spacious. Good facilities in room but it was incredibly hot during our visit so a fridge in room would have improved our stay as no air conditioning but not many days in England you would need it. Breakfast was lovely, small but everything you could want. Evening menu was a bit limited and I probably would go somewhere else for an evening meal. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful."

"A truly delightful hotel in a convenient location with excellent staff and facilities. Impossible to fault overall - 2 tips… dont park under the trees in front of the building. I dont know what the birds eat, but they eat A LOT of it. Then theres steps….pack light, you’ll be hauling your luggage up a LOT of steps :-) - its a 13th century manor house, lifts werent a “thing” !"

"Lovely clean room, included fridge, ironing board, iron as well as the usual things you'd expect like tea/coffee facilities, desk, TV, toiletries, hair dryer. Comfy bed. I'd recommend to stay here but if you're a light sleeper you may need ear plugs as occasional traffic can be heard. Excellent breakfast choice, cooked breakfast made fresh to order. Would definitely stay here again "

"Beautifully decorated and furnished hotel, lovely food and Breakfast was fantastic. Like most older buildings the room was not air conditioned and was a little too warm overnight despite a fan being in the room. Overall would throughly recommend it unless mid-summer. Parking was good and very close to Stratford-upon-Avon"

"The place is idilic but there were a couple of flaws in the room (Dove Cote) that did nit make it for a prefect anniversary: 1) the room was too warm upon arrival and could not be cooled down due to the bathroom’ radiators being on with the towel one being very hot without ant controls to shut it down; 2) the toilet had to be actioned several times to get it to flush (very annoying)! Fixing these 2 things would make it for s very pleasant stay here. Best luck to the next guests."

"The hotel is situated in a fantastic location with great views, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about what guests expect and they deliver with ease, the rooms are unique and comfortable which complement the amazing views The car park is ample and safe for hotel guests and for restaurant diners our continental breakfast was great and accompanied by a barista coffee, well worth the visit and looking forward to visiting again "

"This inn is in the perfect location to explore the Cotswalds without a car. It's an easy walk from the train station. We took a few day trip tours while there and enjoyed the Tuesday market. We also took the train to Bath for the day. The inn itself has a great old pub and dining room and a lovely courtyard that all serve meals or just a drink. "Our stay at the Lion was excellent. The only complaint was that the door to our room wouldn't lock, but other than that everything was great. I would definitely stay there again. Great location for shopping at Bicester Village and a short drive to Bleinheim Palace. "

"Well positioned in the town. Impressive looking building, lovely vibe inside and gorgeous outdoor seating area. We were staying in room 12 which is very small. It was a hot night, so the room was baking, hence we had the window open but a gang of 12-15 pigeons live (noisily) just outside the window! The windowsill was covered in bird poo which was not nice. Shower great and nice to have an Nespresso machine and complimentary water. Bed and pillows too soft for me, but personal choice."

"I booked through Expedia and didn't realise that even though it says the hotel has air con. That is only if you book a room with air con. Standard rooms don't have it. Our first roo. Had a meagre fan and smelt bad. However the staff were great and moved us to a room with air con and we were lucky as it was the last one! But the bathroom was not clean. Had to get people to come and clean the bath which had scummy around it at the bottom and the room door was broken and the top. I only booked...

"Stopped here for a few nights as we had a wedding to attend. All was good though I am a light sleeper and did have trouble due to a low pitched hum that persisted through the night. As we weren't staying long we didn't ask to move to a quieter room. If you are a light sleeper I would suggest you make it clear when you book that you need somewhere quiet. The food was good and reasonably priced and the bar prices were not as steep as some we have encountered in other hotels."
