"Exterior of the hotel a bit shabby but made up for when you enter the lobby. You can see how in years gone by this was the place to stay. Still has charm, chandeliers, colourful glass roof and huge spiral staircase. Staff were great. Proper white shirts and black waistcoat uniforms. At meal times they were everywhere. Plenty of choices at breakfast. Room had plenty of storage, bathroom was clean, bed was comfy. We had a sea view room with sliding door onto a patio with sunbeds, worth paying the extra for the sea view room."

Room was spotless with king size bed, TV, sea views, plenty of storage space, compact ensuite, etc. The on site parking requires some care from drivers, especially if you have a large car. "Room 102 location was great with a large balcony and a view to die for.paid extra. Unfortunately there was no hot water to shower for the 3 nights we stayed. Hotel let us use other rooms to shower but it was a long walk to them Staff all fantastic and helpful . Swimming pool great, garden great and easy access to the beach.. Hotel gave us a large refund which we were grateful for. If you are thinking of staying here pay the extra for rooms (family room) 102 103 and 104"

"Our first mini break away alone, in 13 years and it didn't dissapoint. Anne is the most lovely host, so organised, courteous and kind, nothing was too much trouble. We were a little hot in the small double room, however Anne quickly provided a fan that assisted well. Breakfast was very tasty and scheduled for a time to suit us. Anne was very accommodating to my intolerances and catered with alternative milk and yoghurt. When booking I was unsure if booking the pool would be inconvenient, if plans changed and did think why did they not have the pool open at all times. However, when we were there it all made sense. You book your time slot for your 2 hour private session, with your selection of music, Anne was kind enough to bring us water & icecream during too. It would not have been the same tranquil experience if we would have been in the pool with others. The pool and poolside was extremely clean. The pool was warm at 30degrees. The whole atmosphere of the house and garden was tranquil and relaxing, it truly gave spa vibes. It was just what we were looking for. We did think you could do some costal walks directly from the house but that was my mistake for not looking into this more. However, everywhere was so close by car. We visited Babbicombe, Totnes, Torquay, Teignmouth, Mary Church and Dawlish. Please follow the directions to the house that are sent to you as we got to the bottom of the road (the wrong end) and it was very dangerous to drive up."
