"This is one of the worst places we ever stayed. We stayed there for a night. Room and bathroom are very dirty with full of dust. Poorly maintained. I cleaned spider web on the bathroom counter. Bathroom flush doesn't work properly. Water pressure is good but keeps switching between hot and cold. Makes it difficult to use. Towels are not good. Lint from towels sticked to body. Thin pillow per person were provided. They don't have an extra pillow. This hotel is not at all worth the price....

Hotel situated in the centre Of Hungerford which is a lovely small town with interesting individual shops and antique markets. Another great stay."

"Easy to find and helpful staff when we arrived early . Light flickering in toilet but sorted by staff straight away . Found previous occupants half eaten Chinese takeaway still in the bin in the room which wasn’t great . Reported to reception all very apologetic but should really happen if housekeeping being done throughly . Maybe they just had an off day . Colleague in separate room only had one towel in the room, no bathmat and no hand towel but as a sole occupant she decided not to complain...

"The staff were very friendly, and made us feel at home! The room was cozy and the view was beautiful, though the road outside was rather noisy, but it dies down after dark. I was hooked on the Cotswold Stout while we were there, and the town absolutely won our hearts! Highly recommended The Bear if you're around Marlborough!"

We were able to have a hot shower in the evening, but there was no hot water in the morning. The plug on the bath was broken. "Everything was wonderful EXCEPT no air conditioning so the whole hotel felt like a sauna (we were there during a heat wave in May) and they didn’t do table service for dinner so we had to order our food and drinks from the bar, which isn’t the end of the world but knocks a star off the rating.
