"the bar in an hotel that large didnt have Bacardi totaly unaceptable for an hotel that caters for wedding events. also the rooms needed a better cleanerdust on the small table and the patio doors were filthy."
"I needed to be in Plymouth for an event. While it’s only 17 miles away, I was so busy that day, and the day after I booked a hotel in town.
When I saw a Moxy had opened I had to stay there. I was not disappointed. It’s in what I would call a developing part of the city. The parking (paid) provided by the hotel is a little small. However over the road is a large paid car park.
The hotel itself has all the laid back, chilled vibe that you’d want and expect from a Moxy. It’s perfect for most kinds of get aways, regardless of your tribe. Best of all, the bed will wrap you up and send you into a perfect nights rest. Equivalent to a week in my old bed.
I usually go budget and stay “Travelodge” or “Premier”. I’d now say push the boat out and upgrade. Enjoy. "
"Room clean, food good, staff friendly, only issue air conditioning wasnt working . Informed staff fan placed in room, however room still uncomfortably warm"
"I always enjoy my stays at The Grand, and have visited annually for 16 years.
The pool is fantastic and the ambience lovely. Great bar in wonderful setting with views of the bay, and reasonable prices for drinks.
Breakfast is good and tasty, but I have never liked the marmalade, far too sweet and sickly, and I wish they could provide sourdough in this day and age.
Rooms are clean and comfortable but found hot during my recent stay, and you cannot turn off the heated towel rail in the bathroom.
The main thing which lets the hotel down is the reception staff. It is the same year after year. You can be overcharged, if not on the ball, and even though I sent an email explaining about my two bookings and who would be in each room (and received an affirmative response), there was utter confusion on arrival and departure, and we witnessed other guests experiering similar issues. They were blaming the new system, but it has been the same story at reception for years. If only they would get an efficient reception manager to sort them out, I could then give five stars."
