"Guests should ask to see their assigned room before paying. Our first room was not clean- the bedspread had stains and the pillow cases did not look or smell clean, the floor was dirty, the sink drain was broken. We asked for a new room- the bed appeared clean and smelled better, but the floor was not clean. The sink was new and clean, but the shower was old with chipping plastic, peeling paint from the ceiling and walls, and mold. The condition of the shower would not make it possible to clean well even if it was. We did not shower.
The clerk was nice enough and apologetic; willing to assign the second room. In hind site we should have gone down the road to another place, but it was late and we were tired.
Based on other reviews there must be some nice rooms with better conditions, but I would suggest asking to see your room first. Management should not rent rooms that have amenities in poor condition, and should make sure rooms are cleaned in a way that helps guests feel welcome and cared about. Old amenities are fine- if they can be cleaned and are safe.
