Lovely apartment in the country. We felt very at home here and were able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and nice fridge to store food. Nice get away stay.
What an absolute fantastic stay. Really lovely owners, who helped us at a moments notice! The appartment was excelent and perfect size fornour family of 5.
Already planning our next stay!
The facilities were excellent and the standards of cleanliness and presentation were beyond reproach. I would not hesitate to return there on my next visit to the area.
Owners of the property make you feel very comfortable and at ease. We stayed in the self-catering apartment but had an amazing breakfast each day.
You can come and go without worrying about disturbing anyone. Very clean and comfortable accommodation of high standard. Will definitely be back.
Very happy with our 2 night stay.
Very accommodating re. breakfast timings so I got to do Parkrun and still get breakfast!
Peaceful and within easy reach of York, we just parked up at the Park and Ride.
Thanks for looking after us.
Had a fabulous stay the family who run the hotel are very friendly always on hand if you need any information room was lovely clean an comfey an home cooked breakfast every morning I wkd recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting in or around York
Window in room was tiny. The room was a little damp & when we woke in the morning, even with window open all night, it was full of condensation. The bed was a little lumpy & extremely creaky, so much so when my partner got up in the night the creaking woke me. The room was fairly well equipped with tea, coffee, (no decaf) & milk in the fridge. There was a sink unit with scouring sponge, washing up liquid & tea towel but despite running tap for several minutes did not have hot water. There was a kettle, toaster & microwave. Plenty of plates, cutlery etc but some of the cutlery was dirty. 2 mugs, 2 tumblers and 2 wine glasses are provided but the glasses were dusty. Bedside cabinet contained a hairdryer & a bible. Bathroom equipped with large shower cubicle (good shower) toilet & wash basin. 2xhand towels, 2xbath towels & bath mat.
Could hear tv, voices & coughing from people in next room.
Service and breakfast were excellent! Warm welcome, polite & helpful. Good choices for breakfast which has to be ordered night before.
As for location, depends what you want. Tried to order takeaway but nowhere would deliver. A bit of a walk to nearest pub that provides food. There is a small shop nearby & a fish&chip van was parked up Fri evening. It is very quiet, no traffic noise. There are sheep in the field at the back which you can hear but not enough to be disturbing. If you want peace & quiet it is ideal.
We stayed in the Saddlery on a self catering basis. There were all the amenities there including microwave, fridge and toaster in the kitchenette.
The en-suite had ample space with a powerful shower. Bed very comfortable but squeeked a bit!
We booked breakfast for our first morning and it was so good we had breakfast every morning of our stay - thank you Rachel
Pretty much perfect really. Lovely large suite, very homely and comfortable. Beautifully appointed. Easy carparking and well-positioned for quick and easy "park & ride" connections to York City Centre.
Loved the property ,which was beautifully situated in a delightful peaceful village .There were several great places to eat nearby ,and an easy park and ride journey into York. The breakfast was superb .
Selected a self contained self catering apartment. Nice quiet location and the hosts are very friendly. Comfortable room and loads of parking. Gardens are well maintained with chairs and tables on the grass. TV in main lounge and bedroom and a good wifi.
Only had an overnight stay but was very impressed, lovely clean and comfortable room, excellent breakfast what more could you need???

The property was nice and the price was ok. Breakfast was good and so were the hosts. Nice quite location, out of the way in the countryside.
I was just disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. The bed cover needs a good wash, the bed side tables were dusty, and there was clumps of hair all over the place (on the bed, bath towels, bathroom tops, etc).
Made a good base for both city and countryside trips.

Stayed in the Apartment which had all we needed for a short stay. Friendly staff and a lovely area. Enjoyed a tasty breakfast which I paid extra for as staying in the apartment. Would stay again if visiting the area.
We stayed in the apartments and they were fantastic. We are a large family and had both apartments. They were fully equipped with everything you need self catering and more. Very warm and spotlessly clean. Definitely going back. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
We had a lovely night's stay in the Manor House. Our room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. I liked the idea of the fridge with milk and jugs in the communal area, together with spare toiletries should you need them. Breakfast was cooked beautifully and using local ingredients and we really enjoyed it. All in all a great find within 20 minutes of Poppleton Bar P&R for York.

Overpriced
Guest houseos nice but not worth £85 per night. Breakfast good, bed comfortable, hosts fine. However thin worn towels, only one bath towel first night, few toiletries,no decaff coffee, brown sugar or saccharin. Room is dark and needs refreshing.
