It's a great location for exploring the city - walkable to good restaurants (I loved La Bola), the GeVa Theater, Planetarium, and many good coffee shops (Albunn was fantastic). This hotel just has so much more character than a chain. Highly recommend! "

"We were put in Building B where there is no elevator. It’s one set of steps but with knee issues. They were willing to give me a smaller room bed in Building A which had an elevator. "

"Every time I come to Rochester, I stay at School 31. I have stayed there many times before, and have always had an amazing experience. However, I was a bit disappointed that I did I was not assigned the loft that I chose on the website #215. While 206 is unique and beautiful, the tub/shower placement/situation is not ideal. Regardless of the tub/shower basically in another room - The shower curtain is not large enough to prevent water from getting all over the floor- and there is not a floor drain. Taking a shower was very challenging and I chose not to make a mess, and not finish the shower. While I still had a ok experience over-all, the next time I stay there, I would just appreciate being assigned the unit that I chose and paid for prior to coming to the property. "

"No staff on site at all for check-in or security purposes, or anything else. Lobby locked with no amenities. Insects in the bathroom, street level room access made me uncomfortable, safety wise. Property certainly not as attractive as the photos appeared. The place gave me a creepy vibe overall and I could not stay the night. Low-ish cost was not enough for me to ever try another stay. "
