"We stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast on the morning of departure. Anyone with mobility issues needs to be careful about which room they book, of those in the castle I think that there are a couple on the first floor, accessed by a fairly grand staircase. The rest require a climb up a narrow and steep spiral staircase. The room we stayed was up said spiral staircase and was spacious and clean, well furnished and with a large en-suite. The lady on reception provided a great welcome and helped during our stay, special mention also goes to the lady who gave us and other guests a castle tour. In terms of dining we found a limited menu and an incapacity to vary it in the slightest. Also the staff were less than attentive."

"Just a great place to stay: clean, well appointed, everything works, amazing bathroom (and nice kitchen), and no car required since the bus from Hexham stops outside and the Tesco van found it easily. Wifi worked, key safe worked, everything."
