"On the whole it was a very enjoyable birthday weekend for myself and my wife. One small comment to make is on the Saturday night we opted for the buffet as opposed to the à la carte. The choice and quality weren’t the best but ok, only then to find out when the time came to pay that the costs were the same for the buffet as they were for the à la carte! Bit naughty really. "

"Arrival and check in was all good, restaurant was good great food. We stayed with a wedding party, so we had quite a few rooms. I believe the rest of the parties rooms were fine however my room was on the second floor. We we had suitcases to carry to the second floor, large mother of the bride dresses with a large hat box and accessories. "The consistency of room service standard was not there. One day my room was cleaned well, i had 4 bottles of water i had 4 biscuits for each of us staying in the room. The next day i had no bottles of water, no biscuits, the two extra beds were not made. I was very disappointed upon entering our room after a long day out. "

"The hosts were lovely, and the check-in was fast. The room was clean and warm, and the bed comfortable. Sadly there was occasional noise coming from the road nearby and the trains passing by. Overall it was good."

"We loved this little pub that was older than our country! The room was wonderful and spacious. We had dinner there which was yummy, especially the creme brûlée - it was better than the one I had in Harrods! The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again. It is opposite the church where Midsomer Murders is filmed. "

"Where do I start… check in-no one took a deposit so had trouble with having to pay for everything as I couldn't bill room until I finally sorted it at the front desk. Room key didn’t work second day because my reservation of adding a night seemed to confuse staff so had to be at the front desk every morning until that was sorted. Room restock was HORRIBLE. Had to call every night of a 4 night stay because staff had not refreshed at least 1-5things such ascoffee, tissue, sugar, water, spoon,...
