"There is a large car park but it can get busy at peak times. Register your car at the bar. Our fourth visit in the last year. We like it. Staff, food, atmosphere and location. There are a few maintenance issues that could be addressed, e.g. dripping taps, shower door off runners and touch up of decor in places. We expect to return."

"Great atmosphere. Staff very efficient. Clean and tidy room and cleaned when we went out. Food amazing . Our family got together because of bereavement in the immediate area and we all stayed at there The Lion Hotel. It enabled us to get together and concentrate on our family. Couldn’t asked for anything more. Excellent!"

"Great place to stay clean room lovely comfy bed good shower. 2 mins walk from the railway station. 24 hour manned reception good coffee! Would not hesitate to recommend this venue for a convenient night out in Nottingham. Parking 5 mins walk away which was ideal for us with a car. Late checkout was also available after a later night out at reasonable price too. Will definitely stay there again. Shampoo conditioner body wash in the bathroom too if you forget yours!"

"Visited for a 2 night stay visiting family. Room was lovely and fresh and clean. Reception all friendly and helpful. Bar staff very very good. Housekeeping that i bumped into also friendly and polite Didn't actually eat in the restaurant but did have a couple of pints both nights, with some chips, and a choccy brownie with icecream the 2 night. Both delicious. Went as a solo female traveller with mobility issues and felt safe and secure at all times Plan to def stay again in the future "

"Sadly the friendliness and helpful nature of the staff cannot excuse some of the basic fundamental issues that I have experienced over the last few stays at this hotel. I decided to stay here as I am a keen swimmer and the facilities here are great in that regard. Unfortunately I seem to be unable to get the same quality of room between stays even though I always book the same room type. "Hilary and Graham were fantastic hosts, super knowledgeable, we felt right at home. Breakfast was great too and their garden was perfect for enjoying the sun. Would recommend!"

"Good Front desk were warm, helpful and polite. (Otherwise 1 star) Bad Feels like a 2 or 3 star hotel - not Hilton standard - not worth the price. Small rooms - decor very dated. Upon entering the room...smells of smoke. Tea bags, bottled water and bathroom tissue box not replenished by housekeeping the next day. When requested for on the phone to front desk, no one came in the end. No face towels. Worst of all is the shower drainage - clogged .. yuck."

"Stay was ok. Family Room: Spacious, even with 2 childrens beds (full single size) set up despite our booking had only 1 child. Big criticism is that those beds were very uncomfortable: basic, hard & no padding, could feel the springs. King size bed was more comfortable though also requiring a thick padded layer. Gave our shoulders pins & needles so we had to use all the spare pillows which we may not have had if the room was correctly made up. Bathroom & main bedroom lighting like floodlights....
