"The whole hotel was spotless, everyone was so kind, nothing was a problem, a special shout out to Sarah, she was always on hand, friendly and happy to help, it makes a big difference to a happy stay. Food was good and hot, room was warm and bed was fab with proper pillows, not the small hard rocks that other hotel favour! This is our second stay and it is a great base to explore the lakes from. Highly recommended. "

"We LOVED our stay here! Our room was the “Grand Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, Garden View” in the newer building and the attention to detail was exceptional. Loved the large comfy bed, our cozy robes, the deep bathtub and accompanying luxury toiletries and bath soaking salts. The WiFi was fast and the staff members were fantastic. It was a close walk into town and close to everything you could want to explore in the Lakes District. Very cool how the hotel provides wellies (Hunter Boots) for guests...

"Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help."

"We had a brilliant stay at Melrose B&B. Our room was immaculate and had everything we needed. Staff were very helpful and parking was provided. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the food was excellent. We would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning"

"Our room at Elder Grove was not only spotless, it was a lovely room tastefully decorated with all the amenities you could ask for and more. A large spacious bath with excellent shower, plenty of large fluffy towels and very importantly a large daylight mirror for ease of makeup application and a hairdryer with diffuser for curly girls and boys. Comfortable chairs in the window to watch the world go by and enjoy the views, a large screen TV on an arm for viewing from the very ample sized...
