"Staff were polite and courteous and gave us a room upgrade on arrival which was unexpected but very nice. Large room, clean with a nice big bathroom, room was nice and warm and had all the amenitrequired for a short stay. Breakfast was very good with quality ingredients, overall it was a very good stay and I would not hesitate to return."

"We booked a “cosy room”. It was small, but ok for 1 night. Very clean, nicely decorated and dressed. A nice bathroom. Could have done with a shelf to put stuff on, but we managed. Staff were very good and helpful.
Breakfast was disappointing. Toast was burned and it would have been nice to have had back bacon, not streaky which was very well done and hard to cut and chew. Good location."

Location was great to get to the farmers dog (10 mins in a taxi)"

"Extremely disappointing stay and nowhere near the standard expected for a superior room.
We had booked a twin room but were initially given a double. When we were eventually moved to the twin room we had actually booked, the condition of it was unacceptable. There was hair across the bathroom, stained bedding, significant dust throughout the room and heavy dirt and buildup around the extractor fan and light fittings. The coffee machine still contained water and used pods from the previous...

Only complaint, the front entrance is locked a little early for a Saturday evening, took 2 calls to get the entrance opened.
But would recommend."

"A wonderful old pub in a fantastic location just off the main street going through Burford. A lovely room which we enjoyed, but the staff just felt a but distant, making errors with drinks. Food presentation lacked flair and lacked imagination. In summary, a great room but eat elsewhere to enjoy it best."

"This rambling old place has a lot of character, and some eccentricities. I have stayed here several times and never had a reason to complain. I am an elderly woman travelling alone and would not keep coming back if my rooms were not clean and very comfortable. The staff are always friendly and most helpful.
There is only limited parking but as yet I've had no problem - I understand that there is a public car park nearby, and also roadside parking is not difficult.
