"Really lovely stay at the Angus. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Staff are all friendly, and attentive. Spa was quite basic (pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi) but still lovely to be able to go for a swim. However, the area round the pool and spa needs some maintenance as there was plaster broken off walls, missing tiles and the roof has obviously had some kind of issue. "The breakfast was full Scottish with cereal loads of tea and coffee and different juices set you up for the day , room was clean with a hairdryer, tea & coffee and TV. Staff were friendly."

"Booked an executive double room which was very spacious and had a large bath too. A bit dated overall but clean and we had a lovely overnight stay. Dinner and breakfast were both good quality with gluten free options. I enjoyed using the pool and sauna (pre book) however disappointed the hot tub snd steam room were not in operation. Also, the spa was closed both Sunday and Monday. Hotel is set in extensive grounds and is a 15 minute walk into Aberfoyle. Plenty EV charging points at the hotel....

"If you have mobility issues, this may not be the hotel for you. Our room 214 was up 3 flights of narrow stairs. Housekeeping needs to do a Thorough cleaning more often. I'm not a fan of seeing cobwebs in the corners of the floors. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is not walkable into town. Everyone we talked to said it was one of the best hotels in town."

"We were there 6 nights & it is by far the BEST guest house we’ve ever experienced. The house is the perfect mix of being historic but also updated, so it feels fresh. Loved the high pressure insta hot water & super comfy bed. Great location for walking to dinner each night. And it was the perfect home base for day trips to Dunnottar Castle, Balmoral, Blair Castle & Glamis Castle for the Highland Games. The gardens and view from the house are gorgeous. "The staff/owners were so very welcoming and helpful always looking out for our needs. Even a completely unexpected ride in the rain to the train station! 😊 Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choices! Room was clean, quiet and ever so relaxing! Would love to return."

"The shower didn’t work and there was no hot water so showering was in a dribble of cold water. We did tell the girl on reception but never got fixed. The room was economy so maybe other rooms are better but if you want to close the door while on the toilet then defo pay more. Can’t watch tv in bed as it’s around the corner. The staff were lovely though just didn’t solve the problem and a shower is a must especially in 25 degree heat"
