"It was a little tricky to find our way to the hotel, but easy when you know how. Staff so lovely, couldn't be more helpful. Rooms clean, really comfy bed and pillows. Shower great, free Dove toiletries a bonus, and full size, not little mini ones. Free breakfast was plentiful, nice warm plates, good selection of English and continental. Great stay, will be back soon. Thanks to your fabulous staff."

"I’ve stayed here many times, and usually it’s good, but my room this time was pretty appalling. One single plug socket for the whole room (for tv, iron, fan (it was very hot and no air con) and any chargers), mould in the bathroom, very squeaky doors, lumpy mattress, very stale smell. Just not a nice place to stay. No staff on the desk when checking out. Sad cos I’ve enjoyed staying here in the past."

"We had a lovely 3 night stay at the Red Lion Hotel, the room and bathroom were kept very clean with plenty of toiletries and towels, tea, coffee and biscuits, the food in the evenings was excellent as well, staff were very professional and friendly at breakfast and during the day/evening, we would definitely recommend and will stay there again."

"We were visiting for a gig at Piece Hall and are so glad we chose to stay at this absolutely wonderful hotel on the outskirts of Halifax. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, polite and helpful and this continued for the duration of our stay. As it was such a nice day, we sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed drinks and food from the bar menu before heading into town for our concert. . Breakfast (extra) was also very good indeed. It’s not the cheapest hotel, and not the most fancy...
