"The hotel was clean and tidy but slightly dated"

"Absolutely wonderful views from the harbour view rooms. These rooms are extremely spacious. They are comfortable but could probably use a little bit of an update. All staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was better than expected."

"very well presented and the staff were very pleasant. we thought the car park was over priced as we only stayed one night. Premeir Inn only charge £3.00."

"Great location in the heart of the town. Parking in the Royal Lions own car park can be a little tight but a space was always available. Our room was spotless and well stocked with tea and coffee supplies. Breakfast was good, plant based options on offer. Staff were helpful and friendly. At times it seemed like the hotel were short of personnel. Overall a great stay would definitely return."

"As always, Knoll House Hotel was amazing. It made be a little tired around the edges in some places but was spotlessly clean with welcoming staff and great atmosphere. Unbeatable location, great breakfasts and comfy beds."

"Price Paid via Expedia excluded breakfast. This was NOT made clear on Expedia website The price paid was identical to the normal room price INCLUDING breakfast charged by the hotel. We, therefore, were charged £29.90 for a service we were denied because of Expedia. Room lacked a fridge."

"Not value for money"

"Heel slechte bedden, er lagen wolken van stof onder banken en bedden, koelkast werkte maar net helemaal vol met ijs, moest eerst ontdooid worden. Geen infomap in het huisje hoe alles werkt. Badkamer vies stonk naar het riool."

"Stayed here a few days for a personal retreat, to have a nice quiet place to sit and work, in pleasant surroundings. This place was perfect for that. Ticked all my boxes: parking, en-suite bathroom, desk in room. There is a common area with microwave oven and cutlery and plates/bowls and tea/coffee (there is tea/coffee and kettle in the room anyway), so I never ran out of hot drinks. The view outside my window was very pleasant - a green field sloping up to some houses in the distance. Just what...

"Nice building, although a noisy bar/nightclub is on the corner so bare that in mind. The room photos were not representative of what we got. Upgraded to the "courtyard suite" fairly disappointed by the standard of the rooms. Bathrooms are of a standard I'd expect in cheap rental property, generally poor quality. The door to the "private" courtyard didn't have a lock, on 2 occasions after leaving the room we came back to find the door slightly open. Staff were nice Breakfast was passable...
