"LOOK ELSEWHERE!!! MANY BETTER OPTIONS!!! Run down property, broken concrete on patios, stained carpet, dingy dirty walls in the hallways, and the elevator didnt work well. Just arriving at the location you can see its in need of a remodel. The management and reception staff were very unprofessional. One of the male reception staff flirted for a half hour with two women who were staying one night, while several other people were waiting to get checked in. We were charged a "security deposit" but was never given back. Charged for parking . I found out they charge for parking beacuse they dont own the lot. I brought up how the parking used to be free by the lagoon, and was going cancel staying there but was told by Manager they were not going to charge me. Well obviously that was a lie because they charged me for the 10 days Iwas there. What they also dont tell you is they have a Luau 3 times a week that takes up all the parking. So you are paying to park even when there is no where to park. FYI the food and drinks at the Luau are horrible. If you check around there are a couple really good ones other places. We planned and paid for this trip through Expedia 3 months in advance. We were extremely let down in the Royal Kona. Expedia needs to let people know they have hidden charges and more updated pictures of the property."

"I thought the property was very well kept. My only complaints were the pool. It was rather chilly especially as some of the days we were there were windy. Also, we did come to this resort for our honeymoon and did mention this to the front desk during check in and there wasn’t an acknowledgement of this."

"We didn’t have breakfast but did have lunch & dinner. Food was excellent & staff went above & beyond to make sure we were happy. Staff at the desk was outstanding & very quick for any & all accommodations. Loved the beach, pool & hot tub. "

"I'm confused about how this resort is rated 4 stars. The rooms were poor, the bathroom quality was below average, and the shower had little pressure. I wouldn't recommend or pay for a stay here."

"Our room was towards the back of the property so we could not see the ocean but had a very good view of tropical plants. Two pools with hot tubs, we really enjoyed the “quiet” pool. The sunset down by the lobby was spectacular, glad we didn’t have to drive somewhere. The suite was wonderful only complaint was that AC did not cool the room during the day, leaving the balcony doors open at night made the room very comfortable. "
