"Palace room was nice and spacious. We got a room at the end of the hallway which gave us two balconies. The resort itself is amazing! Everything was convenient, relaxing, and fun! The only downside of this resort is the food. There wasn’t that many choices and the hours were weird and closed early. Be prepared to pay high prices for everything! We enjoyed the pools and lagoon daily! My kids really liked renting water equipment at the lagoon. Overall I would high recommend this resort! "

"The building was in good condition, along with the property. It was clean. The staff was a bit pushy with costs. Overall good. Did not like $35 a day parking fee - that's complete BS on top of the daily rate. There is not much around beside the resort and beaches."

"Overall it’s a nice hotel, only complaint really is we booked a couples massage in the “spa” only to find out the spa is under construction and they just had massage tables set up in a hotel room which we weren’t aware of. We walked around lost for about 15 minutes looking for the spa and even the front desk people couldn’t tell us where it was just that it was in a room. "Before booking this trip, I was debating on this hotel in Kona vs Koloa Landing Resort on Kauai island. We stayed at Koloa Landing a year ago and loved it. But I chose the Marriott based on my previous experiences staying at the Wailea Marriott on Maui island. In comparison, this Kona Marriott felt less fancy compared to the other two. My kids did enjoy the waterslide. But overall the pool area is okay because the house flies were relentless. No matter where you sat, they were landing all over...

"The ambience of Hawaii really does a lot for this hotel. The property is old and starting to fall apart. The rooms are decent and have great views from the balconies, but the bathrooms are the type you will find at a motel. The hallways smell like vomit at random times of the day at night. The staff is very average. The food in the restaurant downstairs and the bar is very mediocre.
