A beautiful classic hotel next to the train station and city centre. Lovely rooms, spa and an amazing roof terrace. The staff were excellent, and we really enjoyed our 3 nights here.

Quirky hotel in a great location between the Arena and Juliet’s balcony. My single room was spacious with everything I needed. The bed was definitely bigger than a single! The welcome drink was a nice touch on arrival. Breakfast was a buffet with a good variety of hot and cold food. The hotel was very busy though!

Lovely clean hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Would definitely stay there again. The lift could do with updating and if they could supply some snacks or food apart from breakfast would be the only improvements to make it complete.

We have travelled all over the world and have to say our 4 day trip to Florence was fantastic and made even better by the hotel, the room and the staff could not have been better. Nothing we asked of them was a problem no matter how small and the hotel location is perfect. Dave and Heather

My husband and I had a fantastic stay at the Grand Hotel Minerva. The location is minutes from the train station on a lovely pedestrianised piazza, and walking distance to the main attractions. The staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay - we hadn’t booked tickets to the sights but they managed to get us tickets for the Accademia to see the statue of David. Breakfast was fabulous, running until 10.30 on Saturday and 11am on Sunday, so no need to rush out of bed. We spent a lot...

Very pleased with our hotel, it had both character and a touch of luxury! Beautiful dining room also where we had breakfast, but service could certainly be improved there. Still it would not put us off staying here again when we return to Florence.

Palazzo Castri 1874 is an excellent boutique hotel located a short walk from the main Santa Maria Novella (SMN) railway station. I find some hotels in this bracket a bit pretentious, but that wasn't the case here. The manager (I assume) was really friendly when we checked in and made us feel very welcome. The rest of the staff were very friendly too. The large roof terrace has a nice bar and fantastic views towards Vesuvius. There is also a nice ground floor bar with roadside terrace.
