"Athena Resort is a fantastic unique hotel in Ninh Binh, the little house style accommodation feels like a home away from home and the pool facilities are expansive. The staff were fantastic including helping us to confirm details on sleeper buses we were taking to the next leg of our trip. The resort is standalone so is extremely quiet and tranquil with the small village of Tam Coc not too far away (20 min walk down a single road over the rice paddies), or a quick taxi / bike ride. "This hotel is a bit removed from the main tourist areas, but still close enough to reach several of them by motorbike in about 8 minutes. It’s an oasis that lets you escape the noise of the towns when you’re ready to relax. Very charming, nicely decorated, simple, and tasteful. The staff is incredibly friendly, the breakfast is good, and they offer bikes and motorbikes at a very reasonable price. The spa, although quite simple, has the best massage therapists we’ve encountered in all of Asia....
