"Great location"

"It was a lovely hotel with a great swimming pool and gym. We used the restaurant for a meal in the evening which was very tasty. The restaurant had drinks outside in a seated area. We had our dog with us too. I would visit again."

"Beautiful property, in urgent need of maintenance and remodeling. Beds and mattresses are in very bad condition, carpets have had it. Only 5 AC equipped rooms. We got four of them and ACs were working on two of them."

"The location of the hotel was convenient for my visit. The room, bathroom and bedding were clean but the room could do with refurbishing as the decor and furniture was a little tired and dated. All members of staff were friendly and very helpful. The parking was convenient, as were the local bakery and great coffee shop."

"A lovely, quiet place and a great spot to relax. The hotel room and bathroom were clean, and the spa facilities were excellent. A big shout-out to Sam, who did my treatment—she was absolutely amazing and made the experience even more enjoyable. The only downside was that the walls were not very soundproof, so I could hear people walking around at night. Other than that, I had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend it."

"Dumbleton Hall has undergone a huge multi-million pound refurbishment, and it shows. The finish combines beautiful finishes, sumptuous fabrics and age-worn character features which have been tastefully restored. The staff were all extremely polite and attentive, with the exception of one evening when we were left waiting to order drinks. "The property is just lush. It's set in the most idealic area and the staff could not do enough for us. The Terrace tables were all taken so the staff moved tables fron the bar area outside for us. Incredibley friendly and wonderful service. Glyn Pernell was chatting with guests and spent a good 15 minutes chatting to my hubby and our friends about football and to us ladies about food. "Arriving in the charming village and then pulling up to Buckland Manor was a dream! Every detail has been seen to with lovely staff, well furnished rooms, gorgeous peaceful grounds. We could pop on many walking paths right from the door and roam the countryside. One wouldn't need to leave this property for days with every need met beautifully. Exquisite!"

Food expensive with service charge added without giving us the opportunity to say no. Rats running around the skip outside. Needs a general paint job outside. "Staff were welcoming. I had a single room which was a good size. Room was clean but basic. Lovely village. My car was too big to risk driving into car park. A small car would have been fine. Parking very difficult in the village. Breakfast was also very basic with cereal, toast and yogurt but did the job. Not a luxury stay but reasonably priced for the area."
