"There’s a reason why my husband and I have travelled to this resort three times! Secrets Akumal checks off all of our boxes in terms of service, location, food, and amenities.
The staff are wonderful, friendly and attentive, and our room was always spotless with turn down service at night!
Snorkelling is also big on our list and we have seen everything from sting rays, turtles, barracudas and many different kinds of reef fish.

"We stayed in August 2024 for my birthday. This was our 5th or 6th trip and unfortunately we will probably not return. Resort has stopped focusing on couples and has starting promoting large groups to book rooms. The resort isn't set up for this. "Esthetically beautiful. Good place for relaxation. Not for singles looking to mingle. There aren’t many events scheduled. Staff does not provide a list of events daily. They want you to use app but it isn’t listed in detail there either. Schedule your restaurants weeks before arrival if you want to have a chance to eat there. The food was horrible. More older people or families with young children. It is a good distance from anything else and taxi rides are expensive. Drinks are watered downs....
