"On the hottest day of the summer the long walk up Steep Hill seemed never ending. It was worth it when we reached this hotel. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The communal areas were inviting and beautifully decorated. The stairs and corridors to the room were like a rabbit warren but spotless and classically decorated. The room was stunning, it looked so inviting. Beautiful bedding, lush carpet, thick blackout curtains, a couple of chairs, a side table and drink making...

"Location & appearance stunning. Interior decoration was period and sympathetic for the age of the property. Staff were polite well dressed & at tentative to your needs. Spa was well appointed, only slight drawback was you need to get the lift up to the spa which unfortunately was out of order, so needed to walk the stairs to reach it. If you ask at the main hall bar/dinning area you can even have a small tour under the premises to the wine cellar & rooms. We look forward to visiting again."

"Lovely helpful staff. Changed rooms as shower had no water, next room shower drizzled and was broken in its wall fixings. Could all do with a spruce up. Really enjoyed the comfy bedroom, relaxed public area. "

"Absolutely outstanding customer service.The restaurant is an absolute must! we decided dinner was the best we had ever enjoyed in the UK wonderful service and piping hot food served to our table, perfectly timed between the three courses and the flavours were divine. The staff at breakfast worked absolute miracles with a huge choice of food and the buffet was constantly refilled WELL DONE!! "

"Great hotel, impressive entrance, lovely staff and all clean. Very recently refurbished so nicely decorated. Car access only location but convenient for roads. One thing to note the sound does carry through the ceiling. "

"Enjoyed the stay just was a little bit noisy around 10:30pm due to other residents returning to their room. Also we had a room with an adjoining door which allowed noise from next door to he audible"

"I was required to undertake a pre-check in online, so when I arrived at the hotel and found no one on reception, I went straight to my room. The receptionist came and found me later! The hotel looks to have been newly refurbished. It was vet clean and everything was in good condition. The room was a single but had everything I needed for a one night stay. The bed was comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone. However, I cannot...
