"This is a huge old fashioned building in dire need of complete renovation. It has two lifts (serving all the rooms!) one of which was “not in service”. So only 1 lift to service this huge hotel. The lift would only fit two people at a time, this would be without any luggage so it took two trips to get to your floor if you needed to take a suitcase and other bits and pieces. The whole structure should have been condemned by the Eastbourne council. No room service, and certainly no room clean each...

"This hotel is a really convenient place to stay when visiting Eastbourne, the water pressure isn’t that great but it’s relatively clean and stuff are helpful. They were happy to provide us with bands as it was particularly hot."

"I stayed in a single room for two nights. The room was very cosy, clean, and comfortable. The shower runs hot, which they do warn you about, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash is provided. The shared areas (lounge and dining) were lovely, decorated and furnished beautifully. There were even board games provided. In the dining area, there's a shared fridge and microwave free for guests to use. Breakfast was food, providing a mix of hot food and cold (cereal). Staff were also friendly....

"Great location, staff was very friendly and cooked us a very tasty breakfast. Room was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Street parking was very full so had to park one street away but promenade and restaurants are all within walking distance so no need to move the car after securing a spot."

"The description do not match the tired look of this hotel and beware that there is an £8 per day charge for parking. My room had botched repairs to the floor tiling and the windows were disgusting. There was no lock on the window with a scaffold ladder right outside. If you want a cheap, central hotel with lovely staff then it’s Ok"

"Hotel looks lovely from the outside but inside it's shabby, tired and in desperate need of renovation. The room (308) was very tatty with trims and fittings broken and falling off. The toilet roll holder was held on by a screw and the cupboard door under the sink was hanging off. The mirrors and stainless steel fittings were peeling off. Walls between rooms were paper things meaning we heard EVERYTHING our neighbours were up to! We asked to have dinner and breakfast in the restaurant but was...

"Typical budget accommodation. Stayed four nights. Decent value. I was on the 3rd floor with no working lift. Bedding wasn't changed nor were bins emptied without me having to ask. Decor was tired. Hotel has seen better days but it's in a good location just a few minutes walk from the shops, bus stops and seafront. I wouldn't be surprised if it became a HMO or private accommodation within the next year."

"Very nice B&B, in good location. Just a couple of points to mention which was why I have only 4/5. - Room and en-suite smaller than expected, but still nice and comfortable - Breakfast was lovely, but would prefer being able to self serve juice and tea/coffee. Also a full English breakfast should use real sausages, rather than tiny chipolatas - Biggest issues was noise with voices and bathrooms clearly audible from other rooms late and night and early morning."

"I specifically booked this hotel because it has a lift and my mum cannot do stairs. We were attending a special family celebration and wanted to stay the night to make a weekend of it. When we arrived at the hotel, the lift was broken - the steps to the first floor were exceedingly steep and narrow - my poor mum was absolutely unable to climb them. There were no ground floor rooms available so we had to cancel the booking and are going through the Expedia complaints process to get a refund....
